Alvis Grigaluns started his musical journey through playing classical music instruments, only later in 2009 discovering the appeal of diverse electronic music. Grigaluns started his explorations in music production using only computer programs, eventually raising an interest in analog synthesizers and machines which still are the main source of his sound today. The artist has bring into use diverse tastes of electronic music like ambient, techno, industrial and experimental music and currently plays his live sets on analog drum machine, bass machine, keys and digital modules.
The man standing behind the year-old project DaTapat has been in the scene for about 20 years already - known as DJ Piparkuuku viirs he has performed in numerous underground venues around Latvia. In the recent years DaTapat has focused on music production using modular synthesiser, sampler and a drummachine. As the musician himself explains - creation process is directly influenced from the emotions of the particular moment, relentless rhytms of the urban everyday as well as symbiosis between people and environment. His recordings contain spontaneously made loops and usually are recorded live for the one-time only experience. As his sound drifts between genres, the sonic journey is never prospective nor alike, it is fluid and moves from raw bangs to melodic tunes.
Dee works predominantly in the medium of computer graphics, including 3D modeling. Dee currently is getting a BFA in Digital Visualization. Her visuals have a unique style by creating a disturbing yet appealing atmosphere, where technology interacts with the dark side of nature.
